When Targeted Internet Advertising Goes Bad ... (Friday, March 20, 2009 2:32:00 PM)

So I was reading
this Yahoo article on a possible deadly spider found in bananas (because everyone does that at work, right?), and I decided to click on the little link for more information about the
Brazilian Wandering Spider.
And, I am not shitting you, this is the advertisement that was at the bottom of the little AJAX popup:
Oh I love targeted internet advertising. They think they're doing
such a good job in many instances (e.g. Facebook telling you to buy Jimi Hendrix tickets because you say you like him on your profile, Amazon suggesting you buy a gun with your copy of Mein Kampf, etc.)
But I just love it when the results come out so beautifully as they did above. Just look at how
HAPPY that girl is to be Brown Recluse Spider shopping?! You can almost picture what she's saying:
"Oh ... my ... gawwwd! I love smarter.com and all these deadly spiders I picked up for practically nothing! I am totally calling Jenny when I get home so we can play with them! Ouch, haha, it bit me! Ciao now! I'm gonna go slip into a coma!"
