Josh Hamilton in the Home Run Derby: Holy Fucking Balls! (Monday, July 14, 2008 8:51:00 PM)

As I speak, Josh Hamilton is in the midst of the most dominant performance I have ever seen in a Home Run Derby!

I've saw Sosa.  I saw McGwire.  I saw Abreu in '05 ... but what Josh Hamilton is doing in the first round of the Home Run Derby tonight is simply amazing!

Nearly every home run hit has been well over 400 feet and a few have been over 500 (longest was 515').  A couple of them would have been the first home runs ever hit out of Yankee stadium if they'd been in a slightly different location.

The final number in round 1 was 28 home runs.  The average distance was 445'.  Think about that for a minute.  It's 318 and 314 down the line ... and his average distance was 445' over 28 home runs.

I think I speak for the baseball-watching public when I say: holy fuck!

Since I've been sort of nomadic lately, now you can look at this little widget dealie and see where I'm at and what the weather is there. Nifty, eh?
